The Honest Answers

Still unsure after reading? Our team replies within one working day — see the link at the bottom of the page.

01Is the coffee actually fresh — or warehouse stock?

Every bag is roasted to order and shipped within 48 hours of roasting. We print the roast date on the base of each bag, so you can see exactly how old it is — no vague "best before" codes.

Filter roasts are at their best 5–21 days off roast; espresso peaks between 7 and 28 days. If a bag ever reaches you more than two weeks past its roast date, tell us and we'll replace it.

02I don't know which roast to pick. Where do I start?

Tell us how you brew and what you like, and we'll choose for you. As a rule: House Blend if you drink milk-based espresso, Blue Note if you want chocolate and nuts in a classic shot, and Ethiopia Guji or Colombia Huila for bright, fruit-forward filter.

Prefer to try before committing to 250g? Every order ships with a free 60g sample of the week's featured origin.

03Why is it more expensive than the supermarket?

Specialty-grade green coffee costs more, we roast in small batches, and we buy direct from 20+ farms we know by name. That means a transparent, above-market price paid to growers — and a cup with traceable origin instead of an anonymous blend.

You're also paying for freshness. Supermarket bags can sit for months; ours rarely last a week on our shelves. Per cup, a €16.50 bag of specialty beans is still a fraction of a café price.

04What if I don't like it?

Our Love It or It's On Us promise: if a bag isn't for you, contact us within 30 days and we'll send a replacement or refund you in full — opened or not. You keep the coffee.

Just message the team with your order number and a line about what missed the mark, so we can point you at something better.

05How much is shipping, and how fast is it?

Free shipping on orders over €45. Below that, standard shipping across Belgium and the Netherlands is €4.50 and arrives in 1–2 working days; the rest of the EU is €7.90 with next-day courier in most cities.

Orders placed before 14:00 on a roast day ship the same afternoon. You'll get a tracking link the moment your parcel leaves the roastery.

06Can I pause or cancel a subscription?

Yes, any time — no minimum term, no cancellation fee, no phone call required. Skip a delivery, change your grind or swap origins from your account up to 48 hours before each roast day.

Subscribe and you save 10% on every recurring order, and you can cancel in two clicks from the confirmation email we send before each shipment.

07How do I brew it properly?

We include a brew card with every order and publish step-by-step guides for V60, Aeropress, French press, moka and espresso. The short version: use 60g of coffee per litre of water, grind fresh, and keep water just off the boil for filter.

08Is it really specialty, and ethically sourced?

Every lot scores 84+ on the SCA scale and is fully traceable to a farm or washing station. We visit our partners regularly and pay above Fair Trade base rates, agreed before harvest.

Roasting happens in Antwerp on a recirculating, low-emission roaster, and our bags are home-compostable. Read more about how we buy in our story.
